Satin Hairline
Satin, Brushed and Hairline finishes on Stainless Steel are the same finish and the term Satin, brushed or Hairline can be used to describe the surface finish pictured above.
Satin or Hairline can be characterised as a well defined directional finish to the stainless steel surface by polishing methods to create lines with a long thin appearance, this long grain finish appears softer than the #4 finish and on fabricated items it is much easier to blend and polish for a seamless finish.
The reflections of light are carried along the long groove like structure in the polished surface which gives a softer reflection than that of #4 or Mirror Polished Stainless Steel.
Common Uses
Satin/Hairline finishes are commonly used on Elevator interiors, Lift Reveals, Escalators, Building Facades, Interior Wall or Ceiling Cladding and other Architectural Designs
