#4 Finish

#4 Finish on Stainless Steel is by far the most popular and readily available polished finish, it is widely used in the food and beverage industry, commercial kitchens, hospitals, handrails, lift interiors, escalators and home appliances.

No 4 finished stainless is used on work surfaces in the food manufacturing industries, Commercial Kitchens and in hospitals as it is easy to maintain and clean.

For Fabricators Designers and Architects, #4 finish is a great all around choice as it gives a look of flatness and has the directional finish allowing fabricators to easily fabricate, weld and polish the surface to match.

How is #4 Made

The No.4 Finish is created by mechanically polishing the surface with abrasive belts to form short grain parallel grooves in a linear direction along the surface of the stainless steel.

The polishing process of No 4 is done by using abrasive belts with cutting lubricants as the coil of stainless is rolled through the polishing line.

Due to the variables such as cutting compounds and abrasive belts not every No 4 finish looks the same from supplier to supplier and from batch to batch, there can be some slight differences which are best avoided by purchasing from the same supplier and if possible ordering all required sheet at the same time.

#4 or commonly called Linished Stainless Steel is the most commonly used finish around the world, this finish is used in Hospitals, Commercial Kitchens, Elevators and Architectural Designs.
